I can't blame Mo if he doesn't want to make a deal. A SP would be great, but this team is severely under performing, regardless. If I would be looking to make a big change, it would be firing Matheny, but that's not going to happen.

Most GMs, including Mozeliak last year, will make a big trade to shake up an under performing ball club.

Any chance we need or could get Hunter Pence?

Since Choo's been brought up a couple of times, I wonder the same about him? I'm cautiously pessimistic that we need either of them, though.

I'm just a big fan of Choo and think that he'd make a great Cardinal.

Pence is probably my second least favorite ballplayer to watch, after Youkilis, so I'd be pretty bummed.

It could happen, but it seems like we're playing decently, just not putting it together. It's not like guys all up over the place are personally underperforming. Maybe a trade could shake that up, I'm not sure, but our pen seems to be straightening itself out, and that was our weakest place. I really do think we're just improperly managing this team. Mike is a great guy and all, but I don't think he can manage worth a [expletive].

Just traded to SF

edit: However, at this moment Giants VP Bobby Evans tells Andrew Baggarly of CSNBayArea.com there is "no deal" and the team is "working through many options." Other reporters feel the trade is close.

Rather surprised the Giants gave up Tommy Joseph, their #2 prospect overall coming into this season, for Pence.

Um yeah, that would suck.

Diamondbacks working hard on something big, and a Garza/Upton framework makes sense for both Cubs and Diamondbacks.

Cards are not being mentioned on the Twitternets. Looks like a quiet day for us.

Couldn't the Cubs have traded Maholm and Reed Johnson to the Braves BEFORE our series :?
