Couldn't walk and K rate was sky high for not being able to walk.

Benefited way too much from good small sample defense. His fWAR was free falling. I bet it hovers around 0.5 this year. He's done. He never successfully adjusted to the sliders and curves.

If you think Grichuk is borderline replacement level, how in the world can you be upset about getting a reliever with great numbers last year and a SP prospect with very good stuff for him?

The Blue Jays must not realize that Grichuk won't get to face the Cubs anymore. The last two years he has about a 1.075 OPS against the Cubs and .725 against everyone else.

Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins indicated Friday that Randal Grichuk will see the bulk of the playing time in right field.
Atkins also noted that Grichuk can play all three outfield spots, so he could move around a bit, but the main takeaway here is that he's going to get an opportunity at regular playing time. With consistent playing time and his friendly new confines, Grichuk is a threat for some nice power numbers in Toronto.

So Grichuk might be costing the Jays a couple wins, thus making it more likely the Jays fall out of the race and dump Donaldson in July. Brilliant job by Mo!
