Waino would have to pull the plug himself, I think. They ran an arm that, (he) admitted himself, was "glass on glass" or bone on bone out there with drastically reduced velocity and results. 85mph fastballs? Adam Wainwright?!.. This front office backed a player ego, and his ~$20m salary, regardless of saner avenues.. Nothing changes that this year; what is possibly Wainos final dance.

Please don't provoke the Cardinals' security detail.

Luke Gregerson (oblique) will face live hitters on Friday.
If everything goes to plan, Gregerson should be able to pitch in a game shortly afterwards. There's still a chance that he opens the year as the closer -- and he might be the favorite if he pitches well at the end of the Grapefruit League session -- but Dominic Leone has emerged as a potential contender for the job. Gregerson won't offer much fantasy value if he isn't handling the ninth inning.

Luke Gregerson (oblique) faced live hitters without issue on Friday and is nearing a return to the Cardinals' bullpen.
The plan is to get Gregerson back into Grapefruit League games as early as Sunday. He entered the spring as the favorite for save chances in the Cardinals' bullpen, though Dominic Leone has emerged as a possible contender for the job while Gregerson was sidelined.
