Split: Rasmus kept out of today's game

Post by greenback44 »

Joe Strauss unfiltered:
Press box notified of Raz' scratch at 1:33 p.m. First pitch: 1:35 p.m. #stlcards
Now hearing switch w/Raz' made for "matchup reasons." Would've been nice to know when talking to mgr 45 minutes before game. #intrigue
Now I'm hearing "matchup issue" has more to do w/plate umpire Rob Drake than LHP Lannan. I can't make this stuff up. #intrigue
I guess we'll know more on Monday.

I don't understand this at all. Why not just tell the truth.

Leach adds to the credibility of Strauss's tweets:
We've been notified by media relations that Rasmus was scratched due to "manager's decision," not injury recurrence. #stlcards
I'd like to wager that one of Rasmus/La Russa is gone by next spring.

The question has to be asked in the post game, and if we don't comeback that question should evoke a reaction from our manager.

Do you think there is any chance it won't? I'm referring to both clauses but particularly the latter.

Maybe TLR caught Colby in the clubhouse doing crossword puzzles. ;)

(I hope people get the reference)

There's so much about this team that is absurdly nonsensical. I predict someone has a Spiezio-style freakout between now and the end of the season. I won't speculate as to who, though.

Keith Law tweeted
The Rasmus/Jay BP comments? Classic rationalization. "I've decided who to play, now I'll make up a reason to defend it."
And I agree..

Hasn't that been the case for too many years? Maybe it's just players today, the media today, the real life soap opera's that are popular on TV ... but man I'm sick of all the drama and [expletive].
