I think you have it exactly right. Tensions were high when he started his Beck topic ("Since they locked my Albert Pujols Appreciation thread for reasons I can't fathom"); his Beck topic (very predictably) getting locked/moved compounded his frustration.

I personally don't think the mods did anything wrong. The reasoning behind locking both topics was clear, and more importantly, completely appropriate and consistent with how they've handled things in the past. When topics get too large or discussions start to become too convoluted, the topic is locked or split. If it's out of place and off-topic, it's moved. The fact that he got upset or took offense (he presumably did, anyway) is baffling to me.

Maybe he's just taking a break for awhile? It's a pretty hard time to be a Cards fan right now, I'll admit to that.
