It's ok to be the worst hitting SS in the league when you are also the best defensively.

Which means, I guess, that Brendan has gotten in touch with his inner Maxvill.

I could describe his anemia in other ways, but Baseball Reference doesn't provide his iron count.

.168/.271/.258 as of this morning. I didn't know it was even *possible* to slug .258. Until I looked up Maxvill just now and saw his 1969 season line: .175/.263/.228 in 375 AB. And his *lifetime* SLG was .259.

I wish I could come up with someone better for a first post but I still don't like the way we extricated Brendan from St. Louis - even if the return has already proved more valuable than I anticipated.

Sigh.

Post one.

I am presently beta testing the easton714-GatewayRedbirds interface. I was recently made homeless. No worries - I have a refrigerator box, some newspaper, and a couple of Old Englishes...oh, and this iPhone.

Easton, most here didn't enjoy the Ryan - for - Theriot switcheroo we pulled last year, but are realistic about the relative talents of Ryan.

It is never OK to hit that badly.
