Apparently Pavano left camp, missing his latest start, to take care of his girlfriend's undisclosed health problem.

i think he's on his way out of NY before camp breaks.

You can't say Pavano without saying no, so just say no to Pavano.

I have honestly been pushing the Pavano move since the world series. I really think that he could do well here. However more and more I question if he really wants to pitch anymore. I understand leaving camp to be with your girlfriend, but it was recently reported that he refused to give his agent any percentage of his contract because he thought he was worth $40M instead of the $39.95M that he signed (stole) from the yanks. So he refused to pay his agent over $50,000 on nearly $40M.
The Yankees were hoping Carl Pavano could showcase his good side this spring, and after suffering two small physical setbacks (a case of "heavy legs" that forced him to miss a day, followed by a bruised foot caused by a liner), he impressed with two shutout innings. But around the corner is another reminder that he needs to keep focusing on what matters.

Team sources say Pavano may have to testify in Tampa later this month in a hearing over his non-payment of the commission on his $39.95 million Yankees deal. The commission should amount to close to $2 million, assuming the standard agents' fee of five percent. Get a load of this. Apparently, Pavano's contention is the agent should have gotten at least $40 million, not just a mere $39.95 million (for a lifetime losing pitcher, no less). So Pavano is handling it by paying nothing.

Amazing that he's the one who apparently feels he got a bum deal. What do you think the Yankees think about the $39.95 million contract?

Based on what he's done in pinstripes, Pavano should not only be paying his former agent but paying back $40 mil to the Yankees, as well. Oh sorry, $39.95 million.

Is Joe Torre sincere, or trying to raise Pavano's price?

Clearly trying to raise the price. You can tell that he is just getting the reports to put it into print so maybe someone reads it an believes it. (similar to the TLR and Yadi hitting issue). Its wierd that Pavano and the pitching coach thought this about the outing.
He felt after the two quick outs that I was rushing the ball and I wasn't as aggressive as I was in the first two outs,'' said Pavano, who went three innings, allowed four hits and two runs. "I noticed something mechanical that had me pushing the ball and it was a little flatter. He wanted me to stay on top.''
Yet Torre feels that he was pitching "free and easy"
