This is a very interesting site, explaining pitches- how they work, what they are, etc. Be sure to click on the 3 videos near the October 15 comment post by Lokesh, showing how to hold all of the balls to accomplish the pitches. Lots of info I did not know, and I imagine many others did not know as well.

The "h" part of "http" was on a different line, I fixed so you should be able to view now.

Knot - thanks for sharing!

Thanks a lot, jim- this was my first venture into the arcane world of " cut and paste". I was hoping it would work, so that I could use it in the future. I know everyone prefers a link as opposed to just a name of a site when they go someplace else.

I liked this explanation of pitching technique because so many people do not know that much about all the various pitches that announcers talk about during a game. Also, in the videos, you get a feeling about how hard it is to control some of these pitches. Even though piching coaches and fans wish someone would develop a third or fourth pitch, it isn't all that easy to bring it off and get it over the plate with any regularity. Also, most of the female fans have not played ball in their earlier years, and might like to know the difference between the various pitches. That may be one of the reasons a lot of gals think the game is boring and they last too long.
