My favorite "name" of the 80s. I definitely had several hundred of his baseball cards:

edit: his baseball reference page says he was drafted by the Cards in '81, but didn't sign. Ah, what could have been!

Murphy's one of the nicest people to ever don a MLB uniform. He'd enter Busch 2 through the wagon gate.

Mike Shannon always loved saying the name of Bombo Rivera. He was gone from the national league by the 1980s, but stayed in baseball until 1982.
