That's another great name from the past that we like to bring up from time to time.

My brother and I got sick of using great players when we'd play wiffle ball or tenny ball so we'd compete against each other with the likes of Jerry Davanon, Don Hahn, "No-neck" Williams, Tom Heintzelman, Larvell Blanks, Dick Billings and with guys on the mound like Bill Grief, Danny Frisella or Steve Foucault.

And it wouldn't make sense to not have one of him from the 70s

Very weird Tony LaRussa Topps cards. If I'm not mistaken, he only had cards from 1964, 1968 and 1972. Not sure if he was running for president or playing baseball.

I'm pretty sure that is NOT Reggie Cleveland...he was #22. According to Baseball Reference, #21 was Brant Alyea long about that time.

Here are some classics from the '70s:

Doug Clarey
Ray Busse
Tom Murphy (my little league coach one summer)

Oh, that was Reggie all right - I have, somewhere, a 1973 Cardinals yearbook (with Simmons' autograph, and also Bernie Carbo's) and I'd recognize those sideburns anywhere.

Either B-R is wrong or Cleveland changed numbers.

Actually I don't think it is. Sure looks like him, but I think McCarver is right that it is Brant Alyea. And now that you say his number was 22 I'm certain you are right.

How about a couple of stoners?

Q: Tug, do you prefer astroturf or grass?

A: I don't know. I never smoked astroturf.

And Frank Reberger.
