Tribune Co. Bankrupt

Post by AWvsCBsteeeerike3 »

If the Cubs benefit from a bailout, I'm going to Washington and opening fire on Congress. That would just be the [expletive] of all [expletive].

That's what happens when you bring Jason Marquis into your organization.

But hey, like I pointed out in another thread, Jason Marquis is a rabbit's foot. 9 years in the big leagues, 9 division titles for his teams. Who else can sport a track record like that?

blowing half a billion trying to buy a championship only helped bring bankruptcy . partially sarcastic.

Something tells me that the Cubs players won't be part of the bankruptcy general creditor pool.

Incorrect.

Chipper Jones won his first 12 seasons, but he's been on non-division winners now. Andruw Jones is 11 for 13. Marquis is a perfect 9 for 9.

I think the questions should be, can anyone boast of a track record like that (with multiple teams)

Didn't Reggie Sanders have a run there for a few years, and it seems like I remember someone else doing the same thing, but not 9 for 9.
