would anyone be content with that? Honestly, I'm not sure of the likelihood of that happening, but Baldelli is a guy that intrigues me. I think he'd be a nice addition to the bench. He can play center, and right handed. Something they need, and he could be a solid bat off the bench, as well. What says you?

I'd be fine with that but I'd rather have Craig/Lopez instead of Baldelli/ Lopez.

Depending on the cost of the two, I would probably have to agree. Of course, I don't see Baldelli costing a fortune, by any means.

I think Baldelli would fill a higher priority need than Felipe Perez and cost less, but I don't think Moz will do anything until at least the beginning of Grapefruit League games. I think he wants to see what we might get out of Craig, Freese, Jay, Kyle (pitcher, not the poster) and Garcia, among others. Problem is none of these folks qualifies as a RH CF.

I'd rather see us add lopez and a good bullpen arm, if any are still available.

what about wiggington?

Quote:
Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com suggests that the Orioles could trade infielder Ty Wigginton before Opening Day.
Wigginton won't get many starts in Baltimore after the signings of Miguel Tejada and Garrett Atkins, but he could appeal to any number of teams in need of a right-handed bat. Wigginton, 32, batted .273/.314/.400 with 11 home runs and 41 RBI in 410 at-bats with the Orioles last season and has popped left-handers to an 840 OPS during his career.

He's owed 3.5 million in '10, I believe. So, if a trade can be worked out, I don't see why this can't be feasible. Of course, he can play multiple positions, but can't really play either one all that well. Not only that, but his time in the outfield was limited. Can he really spot start there all that much. His UZR at third base was -6.4. Of course, he does bring some value offensively, and, according to CHONE projections, doesn't appear to be projected to fall off, if at all, really.

On second thought, I think it would be more beneficial, from a monetary standpoint, to just sign Baldelli, and let Craig play the corner outfield and back-up third base, as well. Honestly, could he be much worse than Wiggy or Lopez defensively?

I don't get the love for Baldelli. At all.

he's always been a very solid glove in center and hits lefties decently (.784 OPS last year against lefties) and should be cheap

plus, after missing so much time due to health and being such a highly touted prospect before hand, he seems like a good candidate to break out and be a solid player
