Where Are You on the Grieving Scale?

Post by Joe Shlabotnik »

It's obvious some of us are farther along than others. I've made my peace with this horrid, abysmal, painful, f*ked up season. How about you?

I couldn't follow the game last night. Checked the score when I got home and laughed maniacally to myself for a minute.

Kinda where I'm at. I selected "acceptance" since I guess that's what it's called when you play video games to distract yourself from the game, then check the score and laugh when you see the Cards lost again.

I voted acceptance. I cancelled the sports package yesterday. I usually wait until the end of the season but I could no longer stand to see them lose series after series to teams like the Nationals, Pirates, and Astros. I will still catch the weekend games.

I'm in the same boat - I pulled the score up on my phone and set it to 15 sec refresh. The wife was watching a show on Hulu, so I dorked out for 45 minutes after we walked the dogs. I looked at my phone, and it's 3-0 thanks to a Schumaker error. I laughed to myself, then the wife and I went to bed. I checked the score this morning when I woke up, saw they lost 3-0, and just shook my head in pity/amazement.

Football and hockey season can't come fast enough.

I won't, can't, watch. I won't put myself through that.

I'm bargaining at this point. "They have to turn it around, right? All the bad karma of the one-run losses has to come back on them in a great way in September, right? Come on, just give 'em a few more weeks and they can make this happen."

I'm at the depression/vomiting razor blades phase. So I might still have some anger mixed in.

We're 4 games out of the Wild Card, so I'm still in denial. I'm following the games on Yahoo, but not watching. That's been the case for a while though. Too ugly.
