Cal Eldred is the Royals new pitching coach.

I had been worried about that because I know that Matheny has always had a boner for him.

Let's roll the tape!

20 year career, 435 HR, 312 SB, 1 ROY, a few seasons with MVP votes. 9 ASGs, some memorable postseason performances. Career 119 OPS+ and 69.8 brWAR.

The WAR total puts him into a tier with guys like Rolen, Gary Carter, Smoltz, Manny Ramirez, Jim Palmer, Tim Raines, and Tony Gwynn.

He goes in the hall. Maybe not first ballot, but I think it happens in short order.

Looking at his numbers I think he should be a HOFer.
