Rangers optioned 3B Patrick Wisdom to Triple-A Nashville.

Wisdom has just a .589 OPS so far this spring. He was acquired via trade from the Cardinals this offseason.

Tigers optioned LHP Ryan Carpenter to Triple-A Toledo; reassigned INFs Harold Castro and Pete Kozma and C Hector Sanchez to minor league camp.

Carpenter had a great showing this spring, with 11 scoreless frames and eight strikeouts. The 28-year-old made six appearances (including five starts) with the Tigers last season and should get more chances this year.

Luke Voit crushed his fourth Grapefruit League home run as the Yankees defeated the Braves 7-4 on Monday evening.

His solo shot came off of Bryse Wilson in the second inning, opening the scoring in the ballgame. Voit, who was one of the hottest hitters in all of baseball over the final two months of the 2018 campaign, is hitting .294 (10-for-34) with four homers and 11 RBI on the spring in his attempt to win the starting first base job with the Bombers.

That's interesting, but let's remember it's only 200 at-bats. In the 400 at-bats prior to that, he was at about a 99 wRC+, and that's where he's at so far this year. Looking at these things in a microcosm will make you crazy.

It looks like a bad trade, but it's not Broglio/Brock.
