Have you heard about Darryl Kile?

Oscar Taveras would've been funnier.

Don't hate. Doe_boy, you just keep monitoring the Ducky situation and let us know if anything changes. Thanks.

Offensive posting? Not like you reminded us that Ryan Theriot once started for us for a season.

Luke Voit went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's win over the Giants.

Voit knocked three singles in the contest, including slapping a two-run single in the second inning. He's now turned in three-hit efforts in three of his last four games, upping his overall line to .283/.397/.538. He's also the owner of a 39-game on-base streak. He's showing that last season's breakout was legit and that the Yanks did well to pluck him from the Cardinals last summer.

Marlins RHP prospect Zac Gallen threw eight innings and allowed two runs while striking out seven on Sunday for Triple-A New Orleans.

Gallen has been one of the best performers in the minors this year, and the two runs allowed actually raises his season ERA to 0.81. Acquired in the deal for Marcell Ozuna, Gallen isn't overpowering, but the 23-year-old commands four unique pitches that include a plus cutter and solid-average change. Gallen won't put up these kind of numbers at the highest level, but his ability to throw strikes and keep hitters honest with his arsenal make him a prime backend starter candidate. Expect to see him with Miami this summer.

Jason Heyward is hitting .333 .450 .587 1.037

He scares me because he's still just 29. If he has a breakout year the Cubs lineup looks a lot scarier than if he had a repeat of the last 2 sucky years. A Fangraphs article about his hot start (from April 19):

https://blogs.fangraphs.com/jason-heywa ... shock-you/

Quote:
It is very early, but Heyward isn’t hitting as many ground balls or infield flies, instead hitting balls much more likely to land for hits or home runs. It’s possible what we are seeing is just a blip and Heyward will revert back to the average hitter he was last year, or regress further. It’s also possible that among all of Heyward’s hitting tweaks over the last decade and improved health, he’s finally found something that can turn his hard-hitting ground ball tendencies into a launch angle converted power hitter. The Cubs tried to tap into Heyward’s power when he first arrived by changing his swing, but a swing designed to turn on inside pitches plus a wrist injury just made Heyward a poor hitter. He has slowly improved the last few seasons, and he’s off to a great start this year. He’s finally hitting the ball hard, again, and if he can keep putting the ball in the air on strikes in the zone, he just might hit well enough to make opting out of his four years and $86 million a consideration instead of a complete non-starter.
