Yankees signed LHP Tyler Lyons to a minor league contract.

Lyons was released by the Pirates earlier this week after spending nearly all of the season at Triple-A Indianapolis, where he held a 3.35 ERA and 55/16 K/BB ratio across 45 2/3 innings. He'll give the Yanks additional lefty relief depth.

Carson Kelly went 2-for-3 and hit a go-ahead homer in the Diamondbacks' 5-3 victory over the Rockies on Monday.

With the game tied at 2-2, Kelly took Wade Davis deep in the eighth inning to give the Diamondbacks a 3-2 lead and ultimately the victory. The backstop has really swung the bat well as of late, and the solo homer gives him 18 roundtrippers and 43 runs driven in. The 25-year-old is now slashing .259/.351/.542 in his 88 games, and has become one of the better fantasy options behind the plate. No reason to think he can't keep it up for the rest of this year and beyond, either.

Yankees signed RHP Trevor Rosenthal to a minor league contract.

Rosenthal holds a 13.50 ERA and 17/26 K/BB ratio over 15 1/3 innings for the Nationals and Tigers this season. He's still throwing hard, though, and the Yanks are willing to roll the dice in hopes that he irons out his control issues.

MLB pension apparently isn't enough to make end meets living in DR. Basically no excuse for former athletes trying to earn money they don't need to survive.

They showed Chris Carpenter on the broadcast tonight. He has a flip phone. Of course he does.

I'm thinking of going back to a flip phone. But I'm just old and crotchety.
