Bryce Harper debut
Well he's here, and the Nats are going to be stacked for quite a while. The current face of their franchise is going to be at best their 3rd best player very soon, if not now. I've seen 4-5 AB's, he just singled off of an 0-2 pitch. He's not going to be an easy out, lightening quick bat allows him to stay back on everything. He's confident too ... maybe a little too confident for my liking. Personally I'd buzz him to bump that down a tick or three, but he's definitely not afraid and I do appreciate that. He also would have had an OF assist last night if the C doesn't drop the ball, so he's flashed a little bit in the field as well.
I do think he's going to be a very easy player for the other 29 teams to really dislike though.

He has pretty much sucked in the high minors. Expected for someone his age, but it suggests he's probably going to suck even more in the majors right now, unless he somehow turned into Hanley Ramirez and refused to take the minors seriously as soon as he got above A ball.

This wouldn't surprise me.cpebbles wrote:He has pretty much sucked in the high minors. He might have a few growing pains for awhile but within 3-4 seasons will be one of the best players in baseball.

I watched most of his first game. I was impressed, but more so by Strasburg.
They've got some arms in the outfield, that's for sure.

i was watching the game on Friday and man he made a great throw. Read the play, got momentum and fired a strike to the catcher.

Whenever he puts everything together then watch out, the kid is a true baseball prodigy.

I don't know why, but it just seems fitting.

Re: Bryce Harper debut
Why were they doing that when their pitcher was pitching? If your going to show your ass, wouldn't you do it when the opposing pitcher was working to try to distract him?
