Two small updates on them.

Jay -- Mo told Strauss that there might have to be a roster move involving Jay. I'm assuming that means DL.

Craig -- Strauss says that they expect him back within 2 weeks.

Jay getting DL'd too? I thought the negative X-rays were a good enough sign he'd be alright.

x-rays just so bone stuff ... soft tissue injuries don't show up.

So I imagine we'll see Robinson and Schumaker platooning in CF? And then based on Mo's comments earlier today, we may indeed wind up seeing Adams after all.

It's looking more and more like Adams will be up. Hate to turn on the arby clock so soon, but its hard to avoid without sacrificing a few wins this season. The dude is batting .389 in 14 games in Memphis so far, OBP of .421, and has jacked 3 HRs with an OPS over 1.

If you have Adams up on the big team to get your best hitting team on the field you might have to put Beltran in CF, Carpenter in RF and Adams at 1B. But if Adams gets called up this soon when Berkman and Craig are back that's going to create a logjam on playing time for the OF and 1B spots.

You can always just send Adams back down to play everyday. You don't use up an option each time, only the first time each season.

Adams would basically have to go down when Jay, Craig and Berkman returned that's assuming no one else got hurt in the meantime. But having Holliday, Jay, Craig, Beltran, Berkman, Adams, Carpenter and Freese which is 8 guys competing for 5 spots with the OF and corner IF spots you would have a lot of quality players not getting enough playing time. But that definitely would make for a great bench and also you could probably use one of them as a trading chip later in the year.

He said he would have no problem bringing him up and that he's ready for the majors. He considered calling him up instead of Skip, but when Skip said he was ready, then he got the call. With another player going on the DL, then it's either activate Craig extremely early, or bring Adams up for a cup of coffee.

With Jay you also have the option of bringing up Chambers, who would be the best player to start in place of Jay everyday. (I'm assuming that Skip is going to be playing some 2b). If you do bring up Chambers, then you have a bench full of CF'ers, none of which will hit more than 3 HR's this year.
