My dad asked me which side the home/away dugouts are normally on.

I thought home was usually on third but St. Louis was first. He wondered if any one else was flipped to?

Candlestick park also had the home dugout on the 1B side and the visitors on the 3B side. But I have indeed noticed that lately, it's the other way around. Even here in Vegas; when I went to see Memphis play here back in '08, the Redbirds were in the first base dugout at Cashman Field. (I was sitting on the 3B side because that's where the shade was).

It's whichever is the most comfortable usually .. i.e. day games which will have the most shade etc. If it's neutral personally I liked 1st, because after you ground out it's a short jog back. Otherwise it's a miserable 40 yard jog back.

Usually it's going to be first base dugout for the home team but that's usually because of them being in the shade more often then not for day games like said above, that's why the Cubs have their dugout on the 3rd base side.

I'd put it on the side with the most expensive ball players on your team.

Albert can't believe his agent forgot to ask for that from LAAA.

BTW, if anyone has $7500 burning a hole in their pocket, you can buy the dugout from the old Kingdome.

I always assumed that the home dugout was by first base so their players wouldn't have to walk as far after making an out.
