They "found a partial tear in the medial meniscus, which was removed, and also a small femoral condylar cartilage tear, which was debrided."

"Debrided"? Isn't that what they do to the guys on "Divorce Court"?

Any comment from Strauss on being hilariously wrong?

"Chris Carpenter (neck, shoulder) is aiming to throw off a mound at some point this week.
"Where I'm at right now compares to where I'm at when I start preparing myself to go to spring training," Carpenter told Joe Strauss of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. "I've been doing everything: strengthening my upper body, running, everything. I feel great." He's currently on track to return in about five weeks, but there's no guarantee that the veteran right-hander will be able to avoid setbacks. "

I read yesterday that he isn't able to swing the bat with 2 hands yet.

I'm wondering if this is a Rolen-esque injury that Jay will never quite get over. Only replace He Sop Choi with a wall... They have a different set of skills so it wouldn't be as dramatic with Jay as the loss of power was to 27. But you gotta figure this diminishes Jay's already tentative potential.

Too early to tell about Jay. Soft tissue injuries of the shoulder are a real beeyotch. They can take forever to heal. He probably has a mild sprain, but aggravated it by coming back too soon. I think he should be fine, but it may take awhile.
