Stan the Man passed peacefully at home at 5:45 pm tonight of natural causes. Life will never be the same without baseball's perfect knight.

One of the truly great ballplayers has passed away, not only was he a great player but a total class act in every other aspect of his life. He's now in that cornfield in Iowa playing with the rest of the legends at the Field of Dreams.

Man. Cardinal baseball just lost a legend.

“We have lost the most beloved member of the Cardinals family,” said William DeWitt Jr., Chairman of the St. Louis Cardinals.
“Stan Musial was the greatest player in Cardinals history and one of the best players in the history of baseball.”

I'm sorry to hear it. I never got the chance to see him play, but it was nice to hear others share their memories, as well as their personal interactions with him through the years. He sounded like a wonderful gentleman as well as an all-time great ballplayer.

Looks like the Cardinals will probably be getting a new patch on their unis next season.
