Re: Old Baseball Pictures
I'm trying to verify this, but someone said this poster was from 1950...And they claim that means a 19 year old Ernie Banks would have been playing for the Monarchs and a 19 year old Willie Mays would have been playing for the Barons.

Those seats would be awesome. And how good of a vantage point was that press box? Don't make 'em like that anymore.pioneer98 wrote:I only made it there once, in its last year. We were sitting more behind home plate, just a bit to the 3B side in like the 4th or 5th row of the upper deck. I remember thinking someone could really get drilled by a foul ball up there because those seats were so close.jim wrote:That shot is taken from almost exactly where I sat when I was there - we were in the first row probably about where that guy with the brown shirt and white cap is sitting. Ordered tickets a few weeks before and was kind of bummed we had to sit in the upper deck. HAH! It was like 15 feet off the ground.pioneer98 wrote:Tiger Stadium:
Loved that park, but I'm sure if I went 10 times I would hate it. We had a rain delay after the first inning and when we were all crammed in the concourses it was leaking so bad that I thought we might stay drier if we were outside.
