Re: Other Games 4/7/2014
David Freese is not in Monday's starting lineup against the Astros.
Ian Stewart gets the start at third base over Freese, batting seventh. Freese had an abysmal spring and has started off the regular season very slowly, currently carrying a .422 OPS in 25 plate appearances. Freese will get the day off to clear his head. He should be back in the lineup on Tuesday against the Mariners.

Omar Infante has a sprained jaw, required six stitches, and suffered a "non-concussive head injury" as a result of being hit in the face by a pitch Monday.
It was a scary sight when Infante was hit in the jaw by a pitch from Rays reliever Heath Bell on Monday night, but it sounds like things could have been much worse. He'll be evaluated for 48 hours before a decision is made about a possible stint on the disabled list. Danny Valencia will fill in for now, but Johnny Giavotella or Christian Colon could be called up if he needs to miss some time.
