Fun stats:

Per 162 games, Adam Troy Dunn averaged 263 walks + strikeouts + home runs.

Per 162 games, Barry Lamar Bonds averaged 335 walks + strikeouts + home runs.

Excellent clarification in the article - it's the pace of the game that needs improved, not necessarily the time.

I really like that article too. I also think improving the pace of games will have a positive effect on offense- if pitchers haven't got endless mound visits and time to ponder and prepare, there's going to be more stuff that the batter can hit.

And then they'll add another 60 seconds to the commercial breaks and the games will go right back to 3 1/2 hours.

Have you watched Big Bang Theory lately? The first commercial break between the teaser and Act One is five minutes long!

Since you're talking about Big Bang Theory I would think long commercial breaks would be a plus.

Well, quite, but when shows feel able to drift below the 20 minute mark, it feels like a bad barrier.
