If Kershaw continues to choke in the playoffs, the Dodgers are going to have huge issues in the future.

Sure is. He looked happy to be there. Good to see that after the way he left. And I still curse the name of that Diamondback that cost him the HoF. If I could remember it...

Had no idea Rolen threw out the first pitch. Glad we still had a player left from his era to catch it.

Really nice to see him back. I hoped we were set at the corners for about 10 years with him and Albert. Sorry that got cut short and we missed all those plays he'd have made.

Wish they had left the regular audio on the clip of him throwing out the pitch.

I thought he first injured his shoulder in a collision with Hee-Sop Choi against the Dodgers.

Clayton Kershaw’s Big Miss, Matt Adams’ Big Hit

Just 17 of Clayton Kershaw’s 2,605 curveballs over a seven-year stretch have been as middle-middle as this one with as little movement as this one had.
He makes a good point. Just think if Adam Wainwright's curve to Beltran had been that flat. On second thought, don't.
Wow, what an interesting read. I think it is worth pointing out though, as the author does, that even those 'terrible' curveballs were rarely torched. Only 6 were swung at and the reults were: a miss, popups, fouls and one other dinger. It was like the perfect storm. Adams was looking curve, and Kershaw threw a bad one. We all know the results. As Ellis said, though, he still has to hit it. And, hit it he did!
That was a great read. Kershaw only throws like 2 curves per season that fat...but then again, he normally does not pitch on short rest. And was about 100 pitches into this game when he threw that one. Add in those factors and maybe it is slightly less surprising that he threw a hanger.

That was the second injury, in 2004, which further damaged his shoulder and eventually ended his career.
