The length of the game does not bother me, it's the pace that needs improved. I realize pace will influence length, but the time of the game is only the symptom of the problem. Nothing wrong with a 4 hour baseball game if it's well paced and it just needs that much time to finish. I hate to bring this game up because we lost, but here is an example of a game that just needed 4 hours to finish:

Banning the shift is a dumb move
It is a strategy. A manager should be allowed to position his defense in whatever configuration he thinks will most help his team.
It's up to a hitter to make the managers pay for their defensive positioning.
that's part of the beauty of baseball IMO.

To say nothing of the folklore, like the time Satchel Paige had his infielders and outfielders all sit down and then proceeded to strike out the side.

Each team will have one designated scrappy hitter who will be awarded first base if he fouls off 5 pitches.

He shall be awarded second if he puffs out his cheeks while hustling to first.slide_into_first wrote:Each team will have one designated scrappy hitter who will be awarded first base if he fouls off 5 pitches.
