Re: Cards trade for Ty Kelly
You are right - he had a 2 run single in the 9th of that game 5 to tie it, then Koz had the winner after that. But Descalso did have a HR in the top of the 8th, too. His HR made it a 1 run game, but then the Nats scored in the bottom of the 8th to make it a 2 run game again. So he had 3 RBI in the last 2 innings of that game, lol.Jocephus wrote:im thinking he followed kozma with a hit...? or preceded koz for a hitpioneer98 wrote:It was a HR actually in the 7th or 8th inning of that game 5 vs WAS.Jocephus wrote:he had that one basehit against washington right

Descalso also had a double in the 5th inning and scored. He also stole second right before Koz got that hit, giving the Cards an extra run. Descalso caught fire right at the right time! His full line that game was: 3 for 5 with 3R, 3RBI, 1 double, 1 HR and a stolen base.
My God reviewing that play-by-play of that game 5 is amazing. Here are the scoring plays:
Bottom of 1st:
B Harper tripled to deep center, J Werth scored. (StL 0, Was 1)
R Zimmerman homered to center (404 feet), B Harper scored. (StL 0, Was 3)
Bottom of 3rd:
B Harper homered to right center (415 feet). (StL 0, Was 4)
M Morse homered to left center (396 feet), R Zimmerman scored. (StL 0, Was 6)
Top of 4th:
M Holliday doubled to left, C Beltran scored. (StL 1, Was 6)
Top of the 5th:
D Descalso scored, P Kozma to third, S Robinson to second on wild pitch by G Gonzalez. (StL 2, Was 6)
A Craig walked, S Robinson scored, C Beltran to third, M Holliday to second. (StL 3, Was 6)
Top of the 7th:
M Holliday grounded out to shortstop, J Jay scored. (StL 4, Was 6)
Top of the 8th:
D Descalso homered to right (357 feet). (StL 5, Was 6)
Bottom of the 8th:
K Suzuki singled to shallow center, A LaRoche scored, I Desmond to second. (StL 5, Was 7)
Top of the 9th:
D Descalso singled to shallow center, C Beltran and A Chambers scored, D Freese to third. (StL 7, Was 7)

Re: Cards trade for Ty Kelly
i remember DD saying that he was pumped standing on first base (in the 9th) and was happy of course but he wanted to be in the dugout too to be with the guys, etc.
