He'll get picked up by someone at the very least to be a utility player. He'll never be a superstar but he's not the worst player in the league either.

Descalso was pretty despised by many fans, not without reason, although I always liked him. I'm sad to see him go but the Cards are better for it. Another member of the Memphis Mafia bites the dust. Jon Jay is the only survivor.

Considering his overall skill level, DD was at the center of many big comebacks, big hits, and exciting moments.

Game 5 of the 2012 NLCS was all him. That's the game I will think about when I think about DD.

And he also started the game 6 rally in the 10th.

I've always been down on him as a ballplayer. But, I certainly respect what he's doing. Seems like he's making the most of his tools that just aren't as good as most MLB players and grinding it out. Hope he catches on with a team that has a spot for him.
