Commercialize Your Player
The Superbowl commercials got me to wondering. If you could create a commercial featuring your favorite team or athlete what would it be? Mine would be like this...
Stan Musial is up to bat and the pitcher throws a fast ball and Musial hits it into the gap. He rounds first base and morphs into Lue Brock. Brock rounds second and morphs into Ozzie. Ozzie rounds third and morphs into Yadi. Yadi slides into home just barely beating the tag. This is the key...the voice over you hear and Yadier Molina completes this inside the park homerun is Jack Buck and his famous call..." I don't believe.....what I just saw!" The screen fades to black as the crowd goes berserk as 'Cardinals Nation' appears on the black screen signaling the beginning of the season. What would yours be?

Fade in to the desert scene in No Country for Old Men with the pickup trucks and the drug deal gone bad. No one has been shot yet. A few guns are drawn. One guy keeps saying, "Agua." Another pickup truck drives up with a sign on the door that says "Bonds." Barry Bonds steps out and picks up the briefcase with 2 million dollars in it.
He gets in the truck and drives off. In the background we see Chirurgh running toward the scene with his left arm still dangling from the accident. Fade out as the screen shows the message:
In a hostile world, choose the safety of bonds. Fidelity

A) show fly ball to left clanking off Matt Holliday's cajones - freeze frame/and reverse [voice: "having trouble with your balls?"] - forward in digitized play with Ozzie Smith ranging out to left to make that miraculous over/under catch. ["you are in good hands with Allstate"]
B) Show a 2014 Allen Craig fly out to the warning track. [voice: "that happens to a lot of guys"]. Morph to Big Matt Adams cranking it out in the playoffs - [Shannon's audioplay: "get up baby! get up! Oh yeah!!"] fade to Cialis logo.

Yadi voice: When you are right, you are right. If I could use a lawyer on the field, it would be Tinsley and Thompson LLP. For all your legal needs

Screen shows the Cardinals' third baseman close to the line. You hear Shannon's voice saying,"Matt Carpenter guards the line." A line shot flies into his glove. He says," I'm married now but when I was single I only dated women who had been immunized against human papilloma virus. Young ladies, get your Gardasil shot."
