The Dead Zone

Post by Joe Shlabotnik »

These last couple of weeks before spring training are the worst. Every thing seems to go quiet as, I guess, teams and players are getting ready for it. Other than BSOHL nonsense, there's nothing going on.

Sigh..

It's killing me. Lately my offseason fantasy baseball stuff even hit a lull.

Football usually carries me through. But now even that is over.

It's a known fact that February blows.

And then spring training is really exciting for about two days, and then it's just boring until the real games start.

Even for the first few weeks of ST it's kind of boring since you're not going to talk about guys doing windsprints and so on, at least when they get to ST games theres at least a little bit of something to talk about. But even then it's hard to get excited about games that don't mean anything in the standings when you know you have 162 games in about a month that actually matter.

I was getting along well enough, busy with work and all, but then we hit this weekend of 70 degree weather and the baseball emptiness of February hit me like a train. Is it weird I spent a little time in this nice weather just walking around Busch and stopping in BPV?

Watching indoor sports with roofs of them aren't as good as outdoor sports played on grass like baseball and football.
