Not sure about 3/$90 but I would overpay for 3 years of Davis. My biggest argument against him is that his power is not sustainable in the long term. It is for 3 years. Probably. (As long as Busch doesn't kill his HR's).Magneto2.0 wrote:Why though? You're buying out his 3 best seasons and that's basically what he's worth if he gives the same value of last season for the contract.Tim wrote:3/90!?!?!?? No way. Of course he'd sign for that

All but two of Davis' 47 HR would have left Busch stadium as well.Fat Strat wrote:(As long as Busch doesn't kill his HR's).

I'm not sure its quite THAT simple to calculate assuming you're looking at HR distance.Woolkins wrote:All but two of Davis' 47 HR would have left Busch stadiums a well.Fat Strat wrote:(As long as Busch doesn't kill his HR's).

Yeah, unfortunately it doesn't work that way.cardinalkarp wrote:I'm not sure its quite THAT simple to calculate assuming you're looking at HR distance.Woolkins wrote:All but two of Davis' 47 HR would have left Busch stadiums a well.Fat Strat wrote:(As long as Busch doesn't kill his HR's).

all that's doing is overlaying busch stadium to where davis' HR landed....that's not how it works. Busch suppresses HR and there's really no way to gauge why/how much.
all that is, is ESPN's home run tracker, put in chris davis' HR and overlay it with a diff ballpark.

He only had one HR last year over 450' long? I thought he had 80 power. What a wuss.

It takes many factors into the calculation. To include wind, temperature and altitude.
I mean there's no way to say for absolute certainty that '15 Davis wouldn't have been merely a 30 HR guy at Busch, but I feel it's safe to assume his power plays there. There are legit concerns over inking Davis to a long term deal, but this is almost witch hunt like.

No, it doesn't...change to any ballpark and the dots remain where they are. All that changes is the ballpark/it overlays the dimensions of the ballparks.
