Yep. I thought it was reasonable to expect some improvement just because they were going to get more at bats, and more healthy at bats, from Grichscotty, Holliday, Adams, and Moss. What none of us could have expected was:

A) all of those dudes would be this productive, minus Adams

B) they would pull 150 PAs of 1.100 OPS of Diaz and Wiilie Mays Hazelbaker out of their ass

Matheny doesn't know about the CGSO stat yet. He only knows QS, W, and S.

Hard to believe, but we're exactly middle of the MLB pack in runs allowed. Also the second best run differential, behind the Cubs.

The Cardinals have seen a steady decline in power over the previous three years, and it was the root cause of their offensive struggles in 2015. The Cardinals ranked in the lower third when it came to slugging percentage (.394), and only five teams hit fewer home runs last summer than the Cardinals’ 137. The Cardinals did not hit their 32nd home run as a team last year until May 19, and it was Mark Reynolds who did it.

The Cardinals had 15 three-run homers in 2015.

Moss hit the team’s ninth of this season on Tuesday.

If we could just combine that with last year's pitching.

...you'd have this year's Cubs?
