If we were the claiming team, what would we have to give up? Weaver+?
BW is right, I'd be shocked if a deal gets done now.

If the Cards were the claiming team, the most I'd give up is Wong (only to get rid of his contract). Otherwise, a A ball hitter that isn't good is the most.

Re: puig demoted
I'd be surprised if the Cards are the claiming team. The franchise under Mo has been built on a core group of guys who rise through the MiLB system as Cardinals and then graduate and play together on the big club. It breeds familiarity and camaraderie in the clubhosue and a player like Puig would be bad for the Cardinals culture. Take out the clubhouse issues, sure, he'd be a high-rish/high-reward piece to add, but with the baggage attached I can't imagine Mo going after him.

Dodgers apparently will not trade him but are not saying if they will call him up with rosters expanding. Friedman and Roberts are mostly citing behavioral issues, so they must really be over him considering they're in a fight for their division and are in dire need of right-handed hitting.

Now they're reportedly recalling him over the weekend.
