Really seems like Weaver, Wong + a guy like, idk, Mike Mayer is way too low. I mean, the Cardinals do that deal in a nanosecond, I think, unless they have much higher hopes for Weaver than I do which is probably a 3/4 starter at best.

I would defn snag McCutchen at TT's discount prices, but not so fast for AW'S. Realistically, I think Pirates will require a lot to get him. Its not exactly a fire sale situation.

Last year has to be a concern-the D decline needs further review (injury-fluky? Or harbinger of moving past prime?)

I like the guy's competitiveness, and cliched I know, athleticism. Tired of the Cards putting out a roster that reminds me of my old softball team.

The Pirates are reportedly open to trading Tony Watson and Josh Harrison as well.

McCutchen last season had an OPS of .810 in August and an OPS of .886 in September so he clearly was himself near the end of the season.

Yeah, I wouldn't be worried about him offensively. And, I wouldn't sell for anything less than a 2015 caliber cutch if I were the bucs

If the Pirates keep Cutch it might be time to switch Marte to CF and him to LF.

FWIW, Robles was #13 in the BA midseason top 100 prospects. Reyes was #2.

Much as it would be great to have Cutch on the team...I don't think the Cards have the horses to get him. Definitely not when you consider a team like the Nats involved. I don't think I would trade Reyes for two years of Cutch, and that would likely be the starting point. They would want Reyes plus Bader at the very least.
