Random Old Baseball Things
I was in a youtube click hole and stumbled upon Anthony Reyes' first start. Check out the lineup TLR put behind him...
Eckstein - 6
Taguchi - 8
Pujols - 3
Grudzielanek - 4
Seabol - 5
JRod - 7
Luna - 9
Mahoney - 2
Reyes - 1

I hope that was a ST game, but it was probably a critical pennant race game.

That was a game towards the end of 2005, right? IIRC, he was brought up from AA to fill a skipped start from Mulder.

I miss Taguchi.
Lineup was probably indicative of a run away season. Giving the big boys a break.

August 9, 2005. We were 71-41 and had a 10.5 game division lead.CardsofSTL wrote:I miss Taguchi.

Apologies if this is a famous photo, but it's in my mother-in-law's favourite pizza place, Farotto's. Joe Garagiola, the Schoendienst brothers, and the original Mr Farotto on a barnstorming tour.

That run through 2004-2005 was great. I still can't believe they didn't win a WS one of those two years.obucard wrote:Gashouse wrote:I hope that was a ST game, but it was probably a critical pennant race game.August 9, 2005. If we're being honest, who wouldn't take an Eckstein/Grudz double-play combo versus Diaz/Wong right now? Assuming you could slide Diaz over to 3B or LF.InvincibleCakeEater wrote:I was in a youtube click hole and stumbled upon Anthony Reyes' first start. Check out the lineup TLR put behind him...

I would certainly prefer him at 3B to Scott Seabol or Abraham Nunez that we trotted out there for most of the season in 2005.Cardman78 wrote:If we're being honest, who wouldn't take an Eckstein/Grudz double-play combo versus Diaz/Wong right now?
