Re: Predict the 2017 Division Winners
Pretty excited to look at these in August and wonder what I was thinking.
NL
West: Dodgers
Central: Cubs
East: Nats
WC: Giants, Pirates
The wild card is maybe a bit of wishcasting that neither the Cardinals or Mets make it, and the Rockies might be sneaky good if they can be healthy for 30 seconds, but not confrontational picks either.
AL
West: Mariners
Central: Indians
East: Red Sox
WC: Blue Jays, Rangers
This is much harder than the more stratified NL. I think the Indians probably aren't as good as their current helium, but who's gonna take that division from them? I think this year continues to illustrate that 2015 was the peak for the Astros, although I'm probably on a limb by having them miss the playoffs entirely. The Mariners aren't really built all that well, but there is a consistency to that team and I see the path for them if the pitching stays healthy and doesn't implode.
