Buying out arbitration and potentially two years of free agency for 3 WAR homegrown talent is the sort of move that gives you flexibility, not the other way around. You might be losing your objectivity a bit with the DeWallet stuff at this point.

I do like the deal. I hear you - Piscotty locked in at decent rate = tradeable.

Worst case scenario is he goes limp like Wong and nobody wants him.

Anyways, there's risk to any deal.

I like this deal a lot. Gives the team flexibility down the road. Seems like a solid move now.

Its also a little different with outfielders. If you acquire a big name RF, Piscotty can move to left, or, as someone mentioned, that's a salary that would not limit a trade.

For some real fun, read the comments/retweets/tweet replies (whatever the hell they're called). Let's just say the term hacking comes up a few times. This one is my favorite so far: Haven't seen #BFIB used yet.

I even hear the Cardinals and Giants built open-air stadiums. No Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire in St. Louis or San Francisco. No sirree bob!

I love this deal. The best part about it is barring a trade I don't have to change my GRB avatar for at least six years.
