I know that Robert is really young but none of his stats really indicate him being a guaranteed future superstar.

I don't know what those numbers would translate to in the minors but his age 18 season in the CNS looked pretty ridiculous to me.

It's good the team had all those excellent high draft picks to fall back on, since they prudently backed away from Robert.

I've heard that DeWitt saw how much the team was spending in post season transportation ever year and ordered Mo to cut that expense.go birds wrote:yea could imagine having to pay this guy $50m/y starting in 2026?

You know things are bad when you completely agree with a troll.Johnconrad wrote:The joke is on the White Sox.go birds wrote:Let's check in future $500m contract haver Robert:
1st game back last night, after month from knee injury.
2-3 HR, 2 RBI, BB, SB
If he's a superstar, they're going to have to pay him again!
I'm glad Mr. DeWitt and President Moe were too smart to fall for that one.

Rafael Devers (another international prospect) was recently promoted by the Red Sox after hitting .300/.369/.575 for half a season at AA at age 20. In his first 7 MLB games he's 12 for 32 with 2 HR. He was the #4 prospect before the callup. I can't find the complete terms of his contract but he did get a $1.5 million signing bonus.

Yeah, I mean they already gave him that money!
If he turns out to be a star, they'll have to give him more money!
What do they think this is?
