Checking to see what a second place offer would entail I guess

You know that Simpsons' gif of the guy coming in the bar, hanging up his hat, turning around , putting his hat back on and going right back out the door? That was Girsch checking in on Stanton.

Moe is first to the table with the 3rd best offer!
What could go wrong?
Just like Robert.
Hey... we don't get him... but it doesn't cost anything.

Re: Cardinals checked in on Stanton
Mo needs to make an offer if Stanton is available. But let's be clear about one thing. I don't want him selling the farm to get Stanton. Mo's top offer should be something like piscotty/Reyes/Perez if the cards are taking back the entire contract. If another team trumps that offer because they have a short sighted gm, I don't want to hear anyone take shots at Mo.
The goal is long term sustained success. I don't want my gm deviating from that plan. The cards have enough prospects that should entice Miami, but mo should not trade everyone to get Stanton.
