Even with a few guys disappointing a little in the upper levels, The Phillies have arguably a top 5 farm. They are one of those sleeping giants that is a couple years away from being a force in the NL again. They have like $6M on the books for 2018. The league average is $89M. So they uh, have a lot of dry powder as they say in St. Louis...

Hoskins only has 108 at bats so far, he's still 22 at bats away from even qualifying as a rookie this year which makes it even more amazing.

By that logic, almost every prospect comes out of nowhere. He was the Eastern League MVP last year and tore up the International League this year.

Only the most hardcore fans even pay attention to top prospct lists and even a smaller group that can tell you of under appreciated prospects like Hoskins.

Are we seriously debating a catch-all phrase like "come out of nowhere"? What would you like me to change the wording to so I can more accurately reflect how fans should have known Rhys Hoskins before August 2017?

The armchair managers at GRB are too busy updating their Top 100 spreadsheets to pay attention to Eastern League MVPs.

Maybe he'll show up in Ted Cruz's Twitter feed.
