Would trade Kelly for him straight up.MrCrowesGarden wrote:JT Realmuto has requested a trade from the Marlins.
Would be a sick tandem.
Nationals have to be wanting him the most. They had the lowest catcher WAR last year and are a playoff team.

How were the Giants ever actually in on Stanton if they can't even handle Longoria's contract? Or are they just following the Cards on MLB Trade Rumors?

Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.com reports that Christian Yelich is "unhappy" with the recent trades by the Marlins, but he plans to have a discussion with the front office before assessing his future with the team.
It doesn't come as a big surprise that he's upset. Yelich posted a "thinking face emoji" on his Twitter account after the Stanton trade, an indication that he was perturbed about what he was seeing. Yelich plans to have a conversation with team president Michael Hill this week because he's trying to be "respectful" of the organization, but it could be a few years before they are legitimate contenders again. The Marlins don't appear to be actively shopping Yelich, but moving him could go a long way toward putting them on the right track in their rebuild process. According to Crasnick, the Diamondbacks, Phillies, and Braves are among the clubs who have contacted the Marlins in recent days. Yelich, 26, is guaranteed $44.5 million through 2021 and his contract includes a club option for 2022.

Probably takes a team out of the Eric Hosmer sweepstakes.

https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/manager ... me-better/Managers’ View: Do Today’s Players Understand the Game Better?
by David Laurila - December 18, 2017
Mike Matheny, St. Louis Cardinals
“I think the modern-day player understands the modern-day game better. You just have to adjust and adapt. Our guys are in tune with the analytics that weren’t relevant in previous generations. I know our guys are understanding the TrackMan data better. They want that information, and it’s accessible to them. Many of these guys are hitting in facilities that will have [instructors] talking to them about their launch angle. The TrackMan data tells them about their exit velocity. Those sort of things are just commonplace conversations.
“Much like front-office and clubhouse staff — how that’s kind of integrated — I think the players are also understanding the value. We’re making those conversations happen with our front-office personnel to where the players see this as a resource, not just to the coaches, but also as an open resource to the players.”
