Why do you want fewer games?
I'd prefer a trade off of extra regular season games for the shot at an additional playoff spot.

I wouldn't take that to mean much. Most bars (and restaurants) teeter on the edge of profitability to start with--nature of the business. If your business model relies on the home team making the playoffs, you probably should not be running a bar.
