We'll see. I'm very skeptical that he'll be that good again, but I'm not going to say it can't/won't happen.

Wasn't he running like 24mph all out on a treadmill earlier this off-season? As long as his sight holds up..

Yeah, that's the question. He's had a rough career so far.Fat Strat wrote:We'll see. I'm very skeptical that he'll be that good again, but I'm not going to say it can't/won't happen.

Those other guys just need better contacts.go birds wrote:I don't have an issue with that. How many 20/20 OFer's that play good CF defense are there?

I'm skeptical too, but if he really is a 30/30 guy in a full season the Cardinals could have a really, really good OF.Fat Strat wrote:We'll see. I'm very skeptical that he'll be that good again, but I'm not going to say it can't/won't happen.

I'm really disappointed in you guys. We're on the second page and not one Nick Punto reference after mentioning The Shredder?

Don't you have to hit 25 homeruns to be a 25/25 guy?MrCrowesGarden wrote:Medwick's_Ghost wrote:Yup...he's a 30-30 guy just waiting to happen. That got me thinking: have the Cards EVER had a 30-30 player? W/O looking it up, maybe Slaughter?go birds wrote:I don't have an issue with that. Pham was the first 25/25 guy, so no.

Yeah, that's "best OF in the league territory".Popeye_Card wrote:I'm skeptical too, but if he really is a 30/30 guy in a full season the Cardinals could have a really, really good OF.Fat Strat wrote:We'll see. But, really, Pham just has to be a 15/15 guy to be one of the better CF'ers in the NL, assuming his defense is for real. I think we can count on his BB%, his solid power, solid defense, and his speed -- that right there is enough to make him a legit solid to good starter, regardless of anything else. We can't count on his health, his BABIP staying high, his K/rate, contact ability, and elite defense, but that's all "icing on the cake" stuff that pushes him into MVP territory if he gets it right and doesn't sink him if he gets it wrong.
