Yeah, that's why he played 13 seasons in the big leagues and has managed for another seven. Because he has no energy.Momo wrote:The energy is where he wants it, because he's an unenergetic, emotionless zombie.Jocephus wrote:

He's managed for seven seasons because the upper management of the Cardinals have extended him opportunities he doesn't deserve. That's a poor argument to lead with.jagtrader wrote:Yeah, that's why he played 13 seasons in the big leagues and has managed for another seven. Nor does length of tenure make for a compelling argument that he's an energetic or meaningful leader anyways. And as with everything in life, it's relative. Is he a literal zombie? No. Is he a zombie compared to some other firebrand managers, some of whom are in our own franchise history? Yes.

In a matchup between two promising National League rookies, Bader appeared to have the upper hand. Tommy Pham stepped in and saw a first-pitch strike, and then the Cardinals TV broadcast said the following:
One thing to keep in mind — Lauer has a tremendous pickoff move. He has picked off four in four consecutive games.

Now five.

Mo's biggest weakness is figuring out how to acquire a good bullpen.
Matheny's biggest weakness is figuring out how to manage a bad bullpen.
Dangerous combination.
