Re: 7/14 GDT: Nationals(TBD) vs Cardinals(Mikolas) 7:15 PM CT
Nationals have not named a starting pitcher.
Mikolas gets the first start for the Cardinals in the 2nd half after pitching Game 2 of the Chicago series leading up to the All Star Break.
-In his most recent outing on Saturday against the Chicago White Sox, Mikolas went seven scoreless innings while surrendering four hits.
-The 34-year-old RHP has an ERA of 4.23, with 6.2 strikeouts per nine innings, in 19 games this season. Opponents are batting .273 against him.
-Mikolas is trying to record his third quality start in a row in this matchup.
-He has held his opponents without an earned run in four of his 19 appearances this season.
-The 34-year-old ranks 41st in ERA (4.23), 47th in WHIP (1.305), and 58th in K/9 (6.2) among qualifying pitchers in MLB action this season.

This is either the 1st day of the rest of our lives, or the end of the season. Probably both.

The season’s essentially over from a competitive perspective, so 1st day of the rest of our lives it is. My attention will be focused on deadline moves and any remaining enjoyment will come from playing spoiler and celebrating Waino’s career.MinorLeagueGuy wrote: ↑July 14 23, 9:13 amThis is either the 1st day of the rest of our lives, or the end of the season. If by some miracle we play .700-ish ball from here on out, I shall happily eat crow and rejoice.

I watched some youtuber mock what Flaherty and Monty would go for, specifically if the Orioles were the partner, and neither netted a guy out of their top 10. Their system is deep, I get it. But are we going with quality over quantity in return? I guess we'll find out.

Yeah. What I'm torn on, is if I want Moz to get out front of the market, and set it, so to speak. Or, if I want him to see what pitching goes for and then aggressively attack.Radbird wrote: ↑July 14 23, 10:09 amThe season’s essentially over from a competitive perspective, so 1st day of the rest of our lives it is.
