Re: Fowler broke his foot
I love Fowler.
I hope he recovers fully and gets back to playing like he used to.
He has sucked this year. I think most fans are not happy with him because he has sucked, and has nothing to do with the money he makes.
I love him as a person, he seems like a really cool guy. I want him to recover fully and get back to playing, I also want to see the best playing guys on the field every night. I couldn't care less how much money they make.

I do wish he made less money because then the Cards could cut ties with him more easily, and they can put the $18mm to better use. And I feel the same way about Cecil.
But I don't care that the money is in Dex's pocket as opposed to DeWitt's.

The only thing stopping Bill Dewitt from putting more money into the roster isn't Dexter Fowler.

All owners have enough money to pay free agents. They just choose not to spend it.
There will probably be more collusion gags in the future too.
According to Fangraphs, Fowler was worth 20 million last year. And worth -9 million this year and a net worth of +11 million.
It's stupid to pretend like his career didn't happen before 2018. If he can spend the rest of the season healing his foot he could be a nice piece to rotate and back up next year. He could have a Matt Kemp resurgence. Greer and Budaska may fix him. Let's hope so.

Jesus [expletive] Christ. Can’t this just be about whether having Fowler on the roster helps or hurts etc?

I ain’t mad. I just thought a JFC was appropriate. The ad nauseum comments on DeWitt’s money do make for tiresome chats.Big Amoco Sign wrote:Why are you so mad?lukethedrifter wrote:Jesus [expletive] Christ. Can’t this just be about whether having Fowler on the roster helps or hurts etc?
And if you’ve followed my comments at all, you’d know I’m not exactly a raging capitalist.
