This is stupid but I still can't get past Lance Lynn getting $30 million from the Rangers of all teams
The Rangers?!

Dodgers trade a few more nobodys for a reunion with Russell Martin.

Good for her but not looking forward to whoever the state media gives us now. Langosch was really good.

Yeah, I really liked her. She was better than Matthew Leach before her.

Sounds like she wasn’t giving it her all the last few seasons.

So Kyler Murray is going to enter the NFL draft?

I think it is a crazy decision if he actually does it.

This has been a crazy story to follow.

1. A year ago or whatever, Murray gets drafted by the A's at #9 leading people to wonder who will be the QB at OU. The A's sign him for $5M and...
2. agree to let him play QB at OU with the agreement he won't go to the NFL, but...
3. he does really well, people start to talk about his NFL potential including Kliff Klingsbury who was the TTech head coach who also go fired who also got hired by the AZ Cardinals who also have the #1 pick with Kliff saying he would take Kyler #1, then...
4. Kyler wins the Heisman trophy, and...
5. demands $15M from the A's to forego the NFL draft.

HOWEVAH: How in the hell are the A's allowed to go back and give him an extra $10M on his signing bonus? I'm not saying he shouldn't get money, I'm just saying that seems to be a clear violation of the draft procedure/policy. What if Gorman now came back and said, yeah, I'd like an additional $5M or I'm going to go kick dirt?

Supposedly MLB had to grant clearance to do so, which they did. Whether Oakland will bite remains to be seen.

I read somewhere that while MLB did do that, the A's didn't need to get the waiver. They can add him to their 40 man and give him a contract extension just like anyone else. Just like how Paul Dejong signed a deal that included money in his first 3 years, the A's can give him a 3/18 deal to cover his first 3 years of baseball and he end up arb eligible after the deal.

I believe she has a young child, so she probably has been distracted, and that may be what's driving this change.
