Bader should not bat anywhere other than 8th.

My first thought was Wong leading off over Bader...but then you got the lefties back to back so I switched it up. We will have to figure it all out again later after we sign Harper anyway.Big Amoco Sign wrote:Bader should not bat anywhere other than 8th.

don't want Molina right in front of Bader...his biggest asset (speed) is worthless if Molina gets a base hit ahead of himBig Amoco Sign wrote:I believe the Cardinals have bought into the high power/high K rate guys batting 3 and 6. Most of the lineups should see DeJong batting 3rd. With Ozuna being the ideal cleanup hitter.
1 and 2 will almost always be this:
Carpenter
Goldschmidt
I think 3-8 look like this on most days:
DeJong
Ozuna
Wong
O'Neill
Molina
Bader
It's good to have DeJong in the 3rd spot because he's a launch angle guy and won't ground into many DPs if Goldy and Carpenter are on base. A K is better than a guy like Ozuna who makes lots of contact and turns those On-Base guys into extra outs.
Molina shouldn't bat in front of a pitcher either.
