Starting a new thread on this because there were bits of convo in several different offseason threads:

Thank you. We have so few threads in the offseason that it makes no sense to bury interesting info in a mega thread where it will get buried.

New info. New thread. That's my philosophy. Not all agree. That's ok.

I agree. I have started threads about something deserving only to learn it had been discussed, but was buried in a GDT.

This is the part in the movie where the Cardinals sign the young brash superstar (Harper) who matures when the former yips old guy comes in and provides guidance. Ankiel battles injuries for the whole year only to come in for a single closer appearance in the last game of the season, clinching a playoff spot.

The GRB mod philosophy is exactly this - start new threads for significant news stories. It gets a bit stale in the clubhouse during the offseason, but I'll do my best to try to break things out into their own threads when necessary.

Nothing can ever be buried in a GDT. They are fun to read from beginning to end over and over and over and over again.

Speaking on Ankiel...I hope he is able to rehab and come back and be effective mid-season for the Cards. That would be happymaking. Also might help give some of the youngsters in the pen a break on workload.

Speaking of Ankiel he was a former outfield mate of Harper in DC, maybe bringing him in as a reliever he can be used to help recruit Harper here. I know its unlikely but can't hurt.

And Ankiel was life coach or something to that effect in Washington for a year.
